There are several ways of T-shirt printing as discussed in the previous article, Different types of T-shirt printing 1. These previously considered methods were Screen printing, Digital direct-to-garment printing, and Heat transfer printing. Below, other methods of printing on T-shirts are discussed.
Vinyl cutting

Vinyl cutting is a process where vinyl is cut into a shape. It can be done using a vinyl cutter, laser, or CNC router.
If you’re looking to get your T-shirt printed on vinyl and don’t have access to any of those machines, There are plenty of options still available. You can use an old-school paper cutter (the kind with scissors) instead—it’ll give you similar results, but they won’t last as long since they’re made out of wood instead of plastic.
Dye sublimation for T-shirt printing
This type of printing is also called thermal transfer printing, and it’s used to apply designs onto garments. The ink is melted and fused into the fabric after being applied, so you can print on anything from T-shirts to tents—but keep in mind that this method isn’t as durable as other types of printings.
A selection of methods for T-shirt printing
There are a variety of methods for t-shirt printing. Some are more common, while others are not.
- Screen printing: This is the most basic method for printing on t-shirts and other clothing items. However, it does have its drawbacks. For example, screen-printing requires you to use a screen that has been pre-printed with ink and then cut out your design from the sheet. Although, this can be time-consuming if you’re doing multiple shirt designs at once.
- Direct To Garment Printing: Dye sublimation T-shirt printing offers an alternative to traditional screen printing because it doesn’t require any prep work beforehand. All you need to do is pour some dye solution onto the fabric using an applicator brush or spray bottle. (The kind of material determines how much dye needs to be applied). After letting it sit until fully dry before moving on to the next step. This involves placing another layer over the top while pressing down firmly enough so as not to see through any holes created during the application process earlier. Then your beautiful piece is ready. You might just need to wash off excess liquid residue afterward.
Conclusion
Those are the different methods available for T-shirt printing. Summarily, screen printing is great for logos and designs that need to be visible from a distance. Dye sublimation printing on the other hand allows you to print directly onto the cloth without having any background colors or reflective images.
